Deep Energy Retrofit
Our Deep Energy retrofits are a whole-house approach to improving energy efficiency, indoor air quality and comfort. A deep energy retrofit takes home performance weatherization to the next level by bringing all the critical components of their houses to the highest levels of performance. For instance, the ability of the building envelope to keep conditioned air in the living space has a direct effect on the efficiency of the mechanical equipment. These systems work together to regulate pressure and promote healthy indoor air quality. This is accomplished with proper sealing and insulation of the envelope along with proper sizing and installation of the mechanical equipment. We find out what is going right and wrong with your house starting with our full home performance analysis. We will implement all the improvements that will ensure your house performs more efficiently as a system and delivers real comfort. Looking at your home as a synergistic system; all of the elements of your home can work together to bring you:
-
Lower utility bills
-
More comfortable living environment
-
Humidity control
-
Draft reduction
-
Equal temperatures throughout your home
-
Correct ventilation and humidity control
-
Healthy and safe air quality in your home

Home Performance Testing
Home Performance Testing is the first step on the path toward a more comfortable, more affordable, healthier home. Our approach is to take a comprehensive, whole-house performance model assessment of the home. Using a variety of high-tech, state-of-the-art tools, such as infrared cameras, blower door testers, carbon monoxide testing, air flow and moisture meters, we're able to determine how your building is performing and identify the key areas where your home is wasting energy and compromising health. Sage will recommend measures based upon the Home Performance Testing and will help you decide which improvements will be best for your needs and your budget and our skilled team will impress you with how they complete your project. With Sage you can prioritize the plan for your home based upon cost savings, energy efficiency or comfort and health. Click here to see if any rebates and incentives may apply to you. Crawl Space Repair
The crawlspace can often be a dark and uninviting place. Bugs, molds and moisture love to find their way into your crawlspace and make their home there. Even though your crawlspace includes vents that help with the overall climate underneath your home, this isn’t always enough. Even with vents, it’s still possible for standing water to accumulate during periods of heavy rain, and this can take days to completely dry out. This moist, humid setting creates the perfect environment for mold, mildew and fungus to grow.
If these continue to grow, they can develop into a health risk for your family. This humidity also creates extra moisture that penetrates the wood foundation. This can lead to the development of wood rot and may attract termites.
Crawlspace Repair services includes: Vapor barrier/Ground Cover; Air Sealing; Pest Exclusion and Insulation.

Pest Exclusion
Have a pest problem in your attic or crawlspace? Often pests, such as rodents, otters, and bats are attracted to your home due to the smell of food sources and warmth that are delivered into the crawlspace by leaky duct systems and unsealed pathways. They can be destructive and messy, bot to mention the unpleasant odor of urine or decaying bodies. We will firstly remove and clean up the pests, and then replace damaged materials as well as plug all pathways to prevent further incursions.

Insulation
Insulation — in your attic or walls, under your floor, or covering your ductwork — is the most basic thing that you can add to make your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, cut your utility bills, and keep out unwanted noise.
Since heat will always flow toward cold, it is essential to have proper insulation — not only in your attic, but also under your floor and in your walls.
Sage Building is a cut above the rest when it comes to products and installation. We primarily use blown cellulose which is recycled and free of formaldehyde and other harmful chemicals.
We also know that it’s the details that make insulation work as it should, so we take the time and care to do it right. Our checklist includes: baffeling, damming and venting in the attic; proper density, a full fill and careful patching in the walls; and full and permanent support under the floor without compressions. Just like everything else in life, if insulation is worth doing, it’s worth doing right.

Air Sealing
The biggest loss of heat and comfort in most homes isn’t always due to a lack of insulation, it can be the result of many small holes and gaps that allow air to leak into the home. The average home has over two square feet of holes and gaps which allow air to leak in and out. That is like leaving a window open all day every day! In most homes this means that 35% of all lost heat is because of air leaks. Another place where homes leak air is in the ductwork. Most ductwork is either in the attic or under the floor and it is almost never air tight. This means that 35% of all the heat that comes out of your furnace is often lost through duct leaks before it ever makes it to the livable areas of your home. Contact Sage today to discuss air sealing your home.

Windows
Windows are often the first things that come to mind when we think about energy savings and improved comfort.
New vinyl or wood windows installed by Sage will insulate up to 300% better than the aluminum windows of just 20 years ago. Through Sage your windows will be custom made just for you — you can pick the exact brand, size, shape, grids, color, and more. When you have new windows installed by Sage you can rest assured that you’ll have lasting, affordable quality.
